Why This Site Exists
Printed directories no longer serve as a current roll of Orleans Parish residents, yet many underlying sources remain. Ownership data comes from the Orleans Parish Assessor and the Civil Clerk's Land Records division. Voter information follows Louisiana law, while older volumes are held by New Orleans Public Library, City Archives, and state repositories. We organize official search tools, office contacts, coverage dates, and access limits in one Orleans Parish reference.
What You Will Find Here
- Pages by angle: the street directory for address records, the directory book for historical volumes, and the resident lookup for one-person searches
- The rolls and offices: assessor, recorder, elections office, court clerk, vital records, the library's local history collection
- Walkthroughs: how to trace who lives on a street, how to read a directory entry, how to follow a household across the decades
- Access rules: what Louisiana law opens, what remains restricted, and how to request material that is not online
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to the City of New Orleans, Orleans Parish, any Louisiana agency, court, office, or library. Important limits apply:

- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot promise that every coverage year, link, or office detail here is current at this moment
Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
